Banana Bread Recipe

My children love banana bread.  They love it so much they will eat a whole loaf in one sitting.  Leftovers?  Not a chance.  I’ve tried many a banana bread recipe in the past but this is my go-to recipe because it is the moistest banana bread you will ever taste!  There’s a secret ingredient….sour cream!  {I found the recipe online many moons ago and I don’t remember where.   Sorry I can’t link it back to the original post!}

Yes, that’s my scribble there!  I use “fresh from my hens” eggs and real vanilla and it makes a huge difference!  I also add a 1/2 tsp of all spice or pumpkin pie spice to add flavor.  It’s delicious!  You can add chocolate chips in too, never be afraid to add your own style to a basic recipe.  The hardest part of this recipe is waiting for it to finish baking so you can enjoy it!

Grab your favorite mixing bowl {Hello Pioneer Woman!} and gather your ingredients.  This is probably one of the only times you want your ingredients rotten in a recipe.   I like my bananas near death to make this bread!  Don’t forget to compost your banana peels.  You can get a nice large loaf out of this recipe, but in today’s case, I am making mini loaves.  We are having a bake sale at work to benefit our Spirit Committee and raise funds for Emergency Nurse’s Week and this will be my contribution.

After 50 minutes, your kitchen will be smelling wonderful and you can package these babies up however you like!  I picked up a bulk package of these on Amazon, as well as the cello bags for packaging the breads.

Here’s the finished product, all packaged and ready for the bake sale!  Aren’t they cute?

Hope you enjoy this recipe!  Happy baking!
